Brussels Effect: Conception, Processes, and Influence of European Union Law
Maranhão & Menezes announces the publication of the eBook 'Brussels Effect: Conception, Processes, and Influence of European Union Law.'
The European Union (EU) has long been committed to regulating initiatives in various areas, including data protection (General Data Protection Regulation), artificial intelligence (AI Act), digital markets (Digital Markets Act), renewable energies (Renewable Energy Directive), among others. As a result, EU regulations have been influencing not only its Member States but also other state and non-state actors outside the bloc, a phenomenon popularly known as the 'Brussels Effect.' Thus, understanding the European legislative process is an integral part of dealing with the influence of this regulation in Brazil.
With this in mind, this eBook explores the EU legislative processes, covering the life cycle of EU legislation from its conception to its implementation in the legal systems of the Member States and the actors involved.
The eBook was coordinated by Bernardo Fico and Marco Almada. The authors include Juliano Maranhão, Josie de Menezes Barros, Bernardo Fico, Marco Almada, João Navas, Beatriz de Sousa, and João Pedro Nazareth Buzone.
